The South End Local Light Rail Beer Crawl!

**New Updates**
All spots have been reserved, so unfortunately, we won’t be able to reserve any more places going forward. We have had a fantastic, and somewhat overwhelming response to this event. Due to the number of people expected to attend, some modifications to the crawl have been made. Read on below to see what to expect.

I’m excited to announce our next event: The South End Local Light Rail Beer Crawl! A long name, great times. The event will showcase local breweries and the craft beer focused restaurants and bars along historic South End’s light rail. The crawl is free for anyone to attend and will have four stops requiring two rides on the light rail. The event will be held on Saturday, December 8 and will start at 5:30 PM. Check-in will take place at one of Charlotte’s newest breweries, Triple C Brewing Company, just minutes away from the New Bern station on Griffith Street. Half the attendees will then take the light rail to The Liberty at the East/West station, and the other half will take the light rail to All American Pub at the Bland Street Station! Both groups will meet up at World of Beer and will walk together to the final stop at Common Market.

**RSVP NOW CLOSED**

To keep track of how many people are coming, we are requesting that everyone who wishes to attend RSVP here. When you arrive at Triple C Brewing Company simply give us your name and email address, we’ll check you off the list, and give you all your stuff!

Why should you RSVP?

-   We have to limit the number of people attending the event, so by RSVP’ing you guarantee your spot!
-   You’ll get a free South End beer tasting glass, lanyard, and schedule card when you arrive.
-   The lanyard will let you keep track of where we are going and when.
-   You will automatically be entered to win prizes in various raffles

Light Rail Passes

Since we are relying on the light rail for transportation, we will have day passes available for those who RSVP’ed when they arrive at Triple C to check in. You’ll need these passes to get around and they provide unlimited rides for the evening, including the outbound trip when the crawl is over. We are taking donations ($6.00 suggested) for the passes, every dime of which will go to Friendship Trays. Friendship Trays delivers meals daily to elderly, handicapped, and convalescing people who are unable or greatly restricted in their ability to prepare or secure meals. You can learn more about their mission here. If you did not RSVP, you will have to purchase your own light rail pass.

The Schedule

Triple C Brewing Company – 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM
We’ll be doing check-in and starting the crawl at one of Charlotte’s newest breweries from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM! The sooner you get there the more time you’ll have to relax and enjoy a beer, remember we leave promptly at 6:30 PM. Stop by the table outside the door to check-in, get your lanyard, schedule card, light rail pass, raffle ticket and South End tasting glass. Those who did not RSVP will only receive a schedule, but may add their name to a wait list to be eligible to get any leftover lanyards and light rail passes (if there are any). Around 5:45 PM head brewer Scott will give a tour of the brewery. When check-in closes at 6:00 PM we will do a quick announcement about the crawl and raffle off some Triple C and South End branded growlers. We’ll stick around until 6:30 PM when we’ll walk to the Light Rail and take the 6:54 PM train to The Liberty (located just off the East/West Station).

The Liberty with The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery - 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM
Those with a green sticker on their schedule will go together to The Liberty from Triple C. Named “Charlotte’s Best Burger” by The Charlotte Observer, The Liberty was Charlotte’s first gastropub and is well-known throughout the area for their fantastic menu and extensive craft beer selection. Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, one of Charlotte’s oldest and most well-known breweries, will be on site! At 7:45 we’ll make the 5 minute walk back to the light rail and take the 7:56 PM train to World of Beer at Bland Street Station.

All American Pub featuring OMB Copper - 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM
Those with a yellow sticker on their schedule will go together to the All American Pub from Triple C. A new addition to South End just off the Bland Street Station, the All American Pub will have Olde Mecklenburg Brewery’s Copper on special to celebrate the crawl! At 7:45 we’ll make the 5 minute walk across the light rail tracks to World of Beer.

World of Beer – 8:00 PM to 8:45 PM
Both groups will meet at World Of Beer! A relatively recent addition to South End, World Of Beer has a robust tap lineup and a great selection of bottled beer. There will be 20 local beers on tap and all Charlotte beers are half price! At 8:45 PM both groups will make the 8 minute walk back over the light rail tracks to Common Market!

Common Market with Four Friends Brewing Company – 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM
One of South End’s most eclectic venues, this deli/bar/bottle shop will have a special tap lineup with some local selections from NoDa Brewing Company, Birdsong Brewing Company as well as Four Friends Brewing Company. Someone from Four Friends will also be around to talk about the brewery. We will do our last announcement and give raffle off some cool Four Friends and Birdsong Brewing Company prizes before we kick off live music from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
